Daily wire reports, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was urged by Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Jerry Moran (R-KS) to force TikTok’s divestiture from ByteDance. According to Bluenthal and Moran, in their letter to Yellen on Thursday, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, which consists of nine cabinet-level officials who review foreign investments in American companies for national security implications, should order ByteDance to cease operating TikTok in the U.S. Beijing-based ByteDance has been accused of maintaining close ties with the Chinese Communist Party.
